Bathroom Faucet Replacement in Charlotte: Fit, Cost & What to Check Before Booking
You can often replace a bathroom faucet while keeping the sink and vanity. The new faucet needs to fit the existing holes, the connections must be compatible, and the plumbing underneath needs to be in usable condition.
FixCraft VP's bathroom faucet replacement in Charlotte starts at $125 for a straightforward swap in the same location. You supply the faucet. A different drain assembly, failed shutoff or damaged pipe can change the scope, so the useful first step is checking the setup before buying parts or scheduling work.
Match the faucet to the holes you already have
The number of handles doesn't tell you everything. A base plate can hide unused holes, and three separate pieces can have different spacing requirements. Look underneath if the openings are visible without taking anything apart. If you can't see them, send photos rather than guessing.
| Faucet style | Existing sink layout to check | Before you order |
|---|---|---|
| Single-hole | One mounting hole; some models also support three-hole sinks with a deck plate | Confirm the approved mounting options and whether the plate is included |
| Centerset | Commonly three holes with 4 inches between the centers of the outer holes | Match the spacing and check the dimensions of the shared base |
| Widespread | Three separate mounting points for the spout and two handles | Measure the outer holes center to center and compare with that model's permitted range |
Moen's bathroom faucet selection guide explains these layouts and the role of a deck plate. Use the specification sheet for your exact model as the final fit check. A faucet described as “widespread” isn't automatically a match for every three-hole sink.
Check the box contents too. Some products are trim only and need a separately purchased valve assembly. The finish and handle style may be exactly what you wanted, while the parts needed underneath are still missing.
If you're also updating the kitchen, our kitchen faucet replacement guide covers its different access and sprayer considerations. This guide is for the bathroom sink you're keeping.
Check clearance, reach and the drain
Hole spacing is only the first measurement. Compare the manufacturer's drawing with the sink and countertop:
- Mounting-hole diameter and deck thickness. The faucet hardware has to fit through the opening and secure through the mounting surface.
- Spout reach and height. Check where the outlet will sit over the bowl and whether there's comfortable room to wash your hands.
- Space behind the faucet. A handle or drain lift rod needs room to operate without hitting the backsplash.
- Space below. Mounting hardware, connecting hoses and a drain mechanism need room around the bowl and cabinet structure.
A taller faucet doesn't fix a reach problem. A new finish doesn't fix an incompatible drain, either.
If the faucet includes a drain, check whether it is intended for a sink with an overflow opening or one without. Moen's drain compatibility guidance warns that a mismatched drain can leak beneath the sink. The drain supplied in the box is something to verify, not a promise that it suits your basin.
Also tell us whether you want to keep the existing drain or change it. Replacing a faucet, replacing its stopper assembly and altering the trap below are different pieces of work. We confirm the needed work before treating a faucet-and-drain package as one simple swap.
What bathroom faucet replacement costs in Charlotte
The $125 starting labor price applies to a straightforward replacement: a compatible faucet at the existing sink, usable shutoffs and connections, and workable access. It isn't a fixed price for every condition hidden inside the vanity.
Old mounting nuts that won't release, corrosion, tight access, missing parts or incompatible supply connections can change the estimate. Drain work needs its own review. Don't assume a new drain, valve repairs or changes to water and drain lines are included in the starting price.
You choose and purchase the faucet. Other materials are separate from labor; if we purchase approved items, they're billed at the actual receipt cost. The pricing page explains the general terms, and our plumbing fixture service page describes the scope of common replacements.
Photo estimates are preliminary. We confirm the actual condition, agreed work and price on site before work begins. If the scope changes, revised work and pricing are confirmed before additional work continues.
Look underneath before scheduling
The new faucet may fit perfectly above the sink while the old hardware is difficult to reach below. A deep bowl, fixed shelf or drawer assembly can limit access. Send a wide photo of the open vanity as well as close-ups; a picture of one valve alone doesn't show the working space.
Tell us about shutoffs that are stuck, won't stop the water or leak when moved. Don't force a corroded valve to test it. Failed shutoffs, damaged plumbing, major leaks and new or relocated water or drain lines belong with a licensed plumber. Those conditions fall outside our routine fixture replacement scope.
The parts and condition determine the appointment plan. A model awaiting a required component needs a different next step from a complete faucet ready to install. We review the photos and product information before confirming the repair appointment and expected time.
For the agreed faucet replacement, we install the compatible fixture, remove old parts from the work area, test connections and clean up before leaving.
Clear toiletries, cleaners and stored items out of the work area before the visit. For a Charlotte apartment or condo, include parking, entry instructions and building work-hour restrictions. If you're renting, confirm permission for the replacement. FixCraft VP works from 28277 Ballantyne within its approved ZIP service area; send your ZIP so coverage can be checked.
When DIY is reasonable
DIY can make sense when the replacement is compatible, the shutoffs work, the old hardware is accessible and you're comfortable following the exact installation instructions and checking connections afterward.
Pause if a valve won't close, a pipe moves unexpectedly, hardware is badly corroded or you can't reach the mounting points safely. Pulling harder can turn removal into a larger repair. A faucet swap also isn't the place to improvise drilling new holes or rerouting plumbing to make an unsuitable purchase fit.
If the sink, countertop or cabinet also needs replacing, start with our bathroom vanity replacement guide. That is a larger project with different measurements and decisions.
Send these details for a useful estimate

- A wide photo inside the vanity and close-ups of the shutoffs, supply connections and drain.
- The new faucet's product link or model number, plus information about included parts.
- Whether you're keeping the drain, and any leak, corrosion or shutoff problem you've noticed.
- Your ZIP, number of faucets and any access restrictions or requested date.
