Closet Drywall Hole Repair & Repainting in Charlotte, NC

Rows of anchor and screw holes covered this small walk-in closet, with several larger holes and a torn area beside the doorway. We filled the damaged areas, sanded the patches and repainted the walls light yellow / cream.

Before

Small holes across the walls. Larger damage up close.

The wide views show the number and spread of the fastener holes. Closer to the doorway, the damage included torn paper and a larger opening with ragged edges. Those details matter when planning the repair, even in a small room.

During

Protection, filling and sanding before paint

Blue masking tape followed the floor, ceiling and door edges, with plastic protecting the floor. We filled the holes and sanded the patched areas. The white patches in these photos show how much wall preparation was needed before repainting.

After

Cream walls, then cleanup

The final sequence moves from paint with masking still in place to cleanup and the empty finished closet. The repainted walls appear light yellow or cream in these photos.

What this job shows

Count the holes, then look at their condition

Closet walls can collect rows of holes from shelving and other fasteners. A room-sized photo shows the overall work; a close-up shows torn edges or deeper damage. Send both when asking about drywall repair and painting.

Questions about a similar closet

Should many anchor holes be repaired before painting?

Yes. Paint alone does not fill rows of anchor or screw holes. In this closet, the holes were filled and the patches sanded before repainting. A wide photo helps show how many repairs are spread across a wall.

Is full-wall painting needed after drywall patches?

It depends on the surface and the finish you want. This project included repainting the closet walls after repairs. On another job, existing color, sheen and patch coverage help determine whether a touch-up or a larger painted area makes sense.

How are larger drywall holes different from small fastener holes?

Small fastener holes can need only local filling, while a larger opening may need a supported patch rather than filler alone. The right method depends on the size and condition of the damaged area. A close-up helps us assess those details.
