Grill Assembly Cost in Charlotte (Weber, Traeger, Big Green Egg)

Grill assembly in Charlotte runs $95–$285 depending on the brand and complexity. A Weber Genesis takes 2.5 hours; a Traeger Ironwood 2.5 hours plus pellet system setup; a Big Green Egg in a custom table is a 4-hour job. Here is what each costs, what is in the box, and the assembly mistakes that cause warranty denials.

Brand Breakdown — Time & Cost

Weber Genesis E-325 / E-435 (gas): 2–3 hours. $185 labor. About 130 fasteners, mostly self-tapping. Most popular in Charlotte by far.

Weber Spirit (smaller gas): 1.5–2 hours. $155 labor. Simpler frame, fewer pieces.

Traeger Ironwood / Pro 575 (pellet smoker): 2.5–3 hours. $225 labor. Includes pellet hopper assembly, controller wiring, smoke probe install.

Big Green Egg in a custom EGG Table: 3–4 hours. $285 labor. Heavy ceramic, requires two installers for safe placement. We bring help if needed.

Kamado Joe Classic III: similar to Big Green Egg, 2.5–3.5 hours. $245 labor.

What Is — and Isn't — In the Box

Most premium grills come with EVERY bolt, screw, and washer needed. Weber and Traeger have been spotless on completeness for years.

Big Green Egg ships in 2–3 separate boxes: the egg itself, the table, and accessories (band, hinge, legs). All three need to be on hand before assembly starts.

Missing parts happen 1 in 30 jobs. We bring matching M5/M6/M8 stainless hardware on the truck so a missing screw never blocks completion.

Charlotte Climate Considerations

Stainless grade matters. Weber 304 stainless rusts in Charlotte humidity within 3–5 years. Wipe down with WD-40 every 3 months — we tell every client this.

Gas line connection: if you're going natural gas (instead of propane), we DO NOT install gas lines (NC requires licensed plumber). We assemble the grill, you call a plumber, they connect the line. Most clients use propane.

Weather covers: a $50 cover doubles your grill's lifespan in Charlotte. Always recommend.

Location: away from siding (especially vinyl, which melts), under a ceiling fan if possible, and never under an unprotected wood deck rafter.

Pellet System Setup (Traeger, Pit Boss, Camp Chef)

Pellet hopper alignment: many DIY assemblers tighten the hopper before checking auger alignment. Auger must spin freely BEFORE hopper is bolted in. We test every time.

Wi-Fi setup: Traeger app pairing is finicky. We do it on-site with you.

First burn-off: every pellet grill needs a 45-minute burn-off at 350°F to remove manufacturing oils. We do this for you so the first cookout doesn't taste like factory chemicals.

Booking

Most Charlotte grill assemblies done in single visit. Bring the boxes — we do the rest.

We also remove old grills (we'll haul to dump for $35).
