Tell Us What You Bought

A product link or model number is more useful than a description like "a large dresser." Send the assembly instructions if you have them, the number of furniture pieces and the number of boxes. An IKEA or Wayfair order can include several packages for one item, so let us know whether the full order has arrived.

Photos of box labels and the assembly area help us review the work. If you have already opened a box, mention visible damage or missing parts. There is no need to unpack or move a heavy box just to take a photo. Keep the packaging and labels until the parts have been checked.

One Item or a Roomful of Furniture

You can request assembly for a single bed or desk, matching bedroom pieces, office desks and chairs, or ready-made shelving and organizer systems. This is assembly of furniture you purchased, not custom carpentry or built-in construction.

For several pieces, send the full list and tell us what matters most. A bed needed first and storage that can wait give us useful priorities when discussing the visit. More items need a larger time allowance; a one-hour minimum does not mean the whole list will fit into one hour.

Plan the Room and Access

Tell us which room the furniture belongs in, which floor it is on, and whether access involves stairs or an elevator. Mention building access rules and whether there is clear space to lay out the parts and work.

If boxes need carrying upstairs or heavy furniture needs moving, say so before the visit. Those tasks require separate confirmation and are not included by default in the assembly request. We tidy our work area after assembly.

Confirm Wall Anchoring Before Work

Some furniture comes with manufacturer requirements for wall anchoring. Send those instructions and a photo of the proposed wall so we can check the item, supplied hardware, wall and access before agreeing to that work.

Do not assume the supplied fasteners suit every wall or that any item can be anchored in any location. If required parts or a suitable anchoring arrangement are missing, the assembly may need to pause until the issue is resolved. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for use; an assembly visit is not a safety certification.

What Affects the Assembly Estimate?

Furniture assembly is $95/hr with a one-hour minimum. All prices are for labor only. Materials are always separate; if we purchase approved items, we bill them at the actual receipt cost. Time depends on the model, number of pieces, drawers and doors, instructions, room access and any agreed anchoring work. A product link helps us assess those details; the number of boxes alone does not establish a final price.

Missing hardware, damaged panels or incomplete instructions can prevent a piece from being finished. Let us know about anything you have noticed so we can discuss what is possible and which items to prioritize. An estimate or assessment is not a booked assembly appointment. We confirm the scope, estimate and availability before scheduling the work.
