Blinds Installation in Charlotte

Blinds and shades are one of those move-in jobs that seem small until every window needs a different measurement. The install has to sit level, clear the trim, and work smoothly without scraping the frame.

What We Install

We install common homeowner-grade blinds and shades, including faux wood blinds, roller shades, cellular shades, cordless blinds, and simple room-darkening shades.

General handyman work starts at $95/hr with a 1-hour minimum. The final time depends on the number of windows, inside vs. outside mount, bracket style, window height, and whether the blinds were measured correctly before the visit.

Inside Mount vs. Outside Mount

Inside mount sits inside the window frame and looks clean when the opening is square and the blind size is right. Outside mount covers the frame and is often more forgiving when the window is older, shallow, or slightly uneven.

Older Charlotte homes can have trim that is not perfectly square. Newer homes and apartments are usually easier, but even there, the bracket depth and screw path matter.

What Changes the Cost

The cost changes with window count, ladder height, bracket type, wall or frame material, and whether old blinds need to come down first.

One or two windows can fit inside a short visit. A full-home blind install is better planned as a larger appointment because measuring, staging, old hardware removal, and cleanup add up.

Apartment, Condo, and Rental Notes

South End, Uptown, Ballantyne, and SouthPark apartments often have lease rules about drilling into frames, concrete, or exterior-facing walls. Some buildings also use metal framing around windows.

If you rent, check the rules first. If the blinds need to be removable or damage-light, send that note before booking so we can plan the cleanest approach.

DIY vs. Calling a Handyman

DIY is fine for one easy window when the blinds are already the right size and you have the tools. It gets more frustrating when the window is high, the frame is tight, or several blinds need to line up in the same room.

Call a handyman when you want the work bundled with curtain rods, shelves, furniture assembly, TV mounting, or a move-in punch list.

What to Send Before Booking

Send photos of each window, the blind or shade box, and the mounting instructions if you have them. If the windows are tall, arched, unusually wide, or inside a rental building, mention that too.

You can book at fixcraftvp.com/contact or call/text (980) 201-6705. If you have several windows, label the boxes by room before the visit if possible.
