Mounting a Soundbar Under Your TV in Charlotte

Adding a soundbar mount to an existing TV install runs $59 in Charlotte when booked alongside the TV mount, or $89 standalone. Most Charlotte homeowners use the cheap-bracket route from Amazon and end up with a crooked, sagging bar. Here is the right way to do it and what we charge for a clean, level result.

The Three Mounting Options

1. Soundbar bracket attached to the TV mount (most common): brackets clamp around the TV's existing mount arms. Works for soundbars under 8 lbs. Easy to remove later.

2. Wall mount independent of TV: dedicated wall bracket mounted 2–4 inches below the TV bottom edge. Stronger, supports up to 25 lbs, lets you remove TV without removing soundbar.

3. Soundbar shelf below TV (for Bose 700, Sonos Arc, Samsung Q990): floating shelf or speaker shelf for non-bracketable bars. We use Sanus or Vogel ECP shelves.

Cable Management — The Real Problem

A clean soundbar install means: HDMI ARC cable from TV to bar, optional optical fallback, power cable to nearest outlet. Three cables hanging is what makes mounting look amateur.

We run cables through wall (in-wall HDMI rated for behind-drywall) into a Datacomm recessed power kit. Power outlet behind the TV, signal cables fish down to the soundbar mount. Total clean, zero visible wires.

Add-on for in-wall cable concealment: $50 (single TV+bar). $30 if booked alongside the original TV mount.

Bracket Compatibility

Sonos Arc / Beam: Sanus WSSAWM1 or Sonos official mount. Don't use generic — Sonos has proprietary mounting holes.

Bose Smart Soundbar 600 / 900: Bose UB-20 II or Sanus WSSCAM1. Sonos brackets do not fit Bose.

Samsung HW-Q990 / LG SP9 / Vizio M-series: most generic 6-screw soundbar brackets work. Bring the bar dimensions when you book.

What We Won't Do

Mount a 25+ lb soundbar with adhesive strips. Period.

Run in-wall cable through fire-stop blocks without proper rating. NC code requires CL2/CL3 rated HDMI for behind-drywall.

Split the TV mount load — putting both TV and heavy soundbar on a single weak mount. Each has its own anchor path.
